Stretchings your piercings be it plugs or flesh tunnels

Its been a while so apologises from us but we have been busy sourcing new products. One the latest crazes is called stretching. Every seen a teenager with a huge gauge plug or taper in their ear? Well this is what we are talking about. Tribes have been doing this for years and no doubt you have seen it on TV documentaries over the years. But this new fashion statement isn't just for teenagers Gok Wan is one of the most famous (in our opinion) wearers of the acrylic taper and man does he wear it well. Oh yes we are big fans of the Gok here at Miss Shimmer 'luv ya girlfriend'. However back to the point, caution must be taken when stretching your ears due to bacteria getting into it but we will go into that at a later date with our guide on proper stretching methods.
If you like the look but really don't want to stretch for real than a cheater taper maybe what you are looking for. These come in a variety of beautiful coloured gems at the centre and have the look of an 00g or 10mm taper and can be used in regular pierced ears.

Preganancy and Nipple piercing problem?

Plenty of women email us to ask just that question. Through research we have discovered there is no information that we can find that proves that nipple piercing causes any major problems. But please be aware that nipple jewellery may have small parts for example end balls which may come loose during breast feeding.
One side affect of nipple piercing can be that milk may leak out of the pierced holes. But the most important thing is please remember to remove the piercing before feeding your infant.

Why choose Nickel free body jewellery?

In our last post we mentioned nickel free body jewellery, just we thought maybe we should explain why nickel is and how it may affect you so here goes. Nickel is commonly found in jewellery but is also found in paper clips, so ask yourself this ‘would you put a paperclip in your piercings?’ We are hoping the answer is no and this is why, when sweat or water meet nickel the result can sever the chemical bonds between nickel ions and cause them to absorb into the body and this can promote allergies.
Allergies from contact from nickel by and large start with that ‘itchy feeling’ where the metal contacts the skin which may start with dry skin, red rashes or inflammation which in turn can become dermatitis. If this does occur it is extremely important that action is taken immediately as it can spread very quickly. Due to these reasons we at
Miss Shimmer only supply nickel free body jewellery.

Burning questions on cheap body jewellery

Miss Shimmer has been extrememly busy and just wanted to update our blog readers on some very interesting questions we have received. We recently had a customer that was concerned that our body jewellery is not as expensive as other sellers in the body jewellery sector. Well lets stop it right there and put your mind at rest.
None of our body jewellery contains nickel, THAT'S NICKEL FREE BODY JEWELLERY, sorry to shout but there are some people out there that think expensive means the best quality. Are there also sellers that price their items high for just that reason well here at
Miss Shimmer we are dedicated to bringing quality, nickel free body jewellery to our customers at lower prices! No catch, no rubbish just quality low priced body jewellery.
